BYU v. Ole Miss

BYU's football season opener was at Ole Miss (University of Mississippi) last weekend and since we were only a short 4 hour drive away, we packed up the kiddies and headed out for our first American roadtrip in many years.  It was great fun and BYU didn't disappoint in the end - pulling off a win by 1 point in the last 5 minutes of the game.
Prior to the game, we enjoyed the official BYU tailgating BBQ - complete with homemade ice cream (yes, a John Deere tractor engine was rigged to mix the ice cream).

We also enjoyed browsing "the Grove" where all the Ole Miss fans hang out and tailgate.  They had quite the set-up: flat panel TV screens and many even brought their satellite dishes.
It was common to see the Ole Miss lady fans all dressed up like it was prom night.
The Ole Miss crowd was very pleasant - welcoming us to their school and congratulating us on our win at the end.  I guess the only other away-games I've had much experience with are U of U fans and Utah State - neither of which were very nice.
